A warm welcome to Thomas G. Laubenthal, who joined AirQuest as our new Director of Operations for our Southeast region.
Tom graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and has since accumulated over 37 years of experience and service in the environmental industry. He is a nationally recognized expert in the field of asbestos and lead-based paint detection and control. He was worked on all facets of client services, from laboratory analysis to consulting with major corporations and government agencies. He has served as a technical expert in polarized light microscopy for the National Institute for Standard and Technology for its National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program since 1988.
Tom is a past national President of the Environmental Information Association (EIA) and was the founder and first president of the Georgia Chapter of the EIA. He frequently presents professional presentations at regional and national conferences and spent years in classrooms as a training professional. He has numerous publications in print and e-media, including significant contributions to government guidance documents.
Tom has been an invited member of regulatory review panels, including the Environmental Protection Agency, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and National Institute of Standards and Technology. He currently serves on various professional association committees and directorships consisting of the Environmental Information Association (EIA), Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), ASTM International, and Lead and Environmental Hazards Association (LEHA). He has served in recent years with the Georgia Department of Health’s Healthy Homes Coalition.
Tom will be serving as AirQuest’s new Director of Operations for our Southeast region. We look forward to working with Tom and adding his experience and expertise to our accredited team.
